Proactive IT support
Deal with IT problems sooner and reduce the chance of repeat disruption
Combine a clear helpdesk route with Atera monitoring, patching, maintenance and practical follow-up so your organisation is not relying entirely on reactive fixes.
Support when something goes wrong
Give staff a clear route to get help
Computer, application, Microsoft 365, printer and network problems can interrupt the working day. A structured support route makes it easier to capture the issue, investigate it and keep the right people informed.
Many problems can be diagnosed remotely. When remote work is not appropriate, on-site assistance can be planned. Regular on-site support is available within approximately one hour of Ipswich, with remote and specially arranged support provided more widely across England.
Standard hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and announced closures. Customers are encouraged to use [email protected] or [email protected] so the available team can respond.
Support can combine
- Remote troubleshooting
- Planned on-site assistance
- User and account support
- Issue history and follow-up
- Escalation to relevant suppliers
Look beyond the immediate fault
Proactive management helps reveal developing issues
JM Restart uses Atera RMM, supported vendor platforms and carefully developed scripts to provide the monitoring, patching and maintenance agreed for each customer.
Operating-system updates
Help keep supported computers current with relevant security fixes, reliability improvements and supported operating-system updates.
Application patching and scripts
Keep supported applications updated and use appropriate custom scripts to improve maintenance, checks and repeatable customer outcomes.
Devices and operating systems
Monitor supported Windows and macOS computers, with wider support available for Linux, iOS, Android, printers, NAS devices, switches and routers.
Cloud and network oversight
Bring agreed Microsoft 365 tenant monitoring, SaaS backup, cloud-managed networking and device management into the wider support relationship.
From alert to useful action
Monitoring is useful when someone reviews what it means
An alert is not the same as a diagnosis, and not every issue can be prevented. The value comes from combining appropriate monitoring with technical review, maintenance and a sensible response.
JM Restart can use the available information to identify trends, investigate significant warnings and discuss replacement or improvement priorities. The exact devices, systems, checks and response arrangements are defined in the managed-service agreement.
A practical cycle
- Observe: collect relevant health, update and support information.
- Review: distinguish meaningful warnings from noise.
- Act: investigate, maintain or escalate according to priority.
- Improve: use recurring issues to inform future decisions.
What it changes
Less reliance on emergency fixes
Reduce avoidable disruption
Address relevant developing issues before they become larger problems where the available evidence allows.
Improve consistency
Use routine maintenance and agreed support processes instead of approaching each issue from the beginning.
Respond with context
Give the support team useful device and issue history, helping investigation start with a clearer picture.
Plan improvements
Use recurring faults and health information to inform replacement, security and investment priorities.
Part of a wider service
Proactive support sits beneath Managed IT Services
This page explains the helpdesk, monitoring and maintenance element of a managed relationship. It is not a separate replacement for the wider service.
Managed IT Services can also bring together Bitdefender MDR or EDR, legacy Trend Micro services, Microsoft 365 monitoring, OpenText or Kaseya SaaS backup, Intune or Mosyle device management, networks, user administration, supplier coordination and technology planning. Exact products and inclusions depend on the agreed service.
