A long parts list is not a useful specification until every major choice has a reason.
We begin with the applications, files, displays, peripherals and daily tasks the computer must handle. We also ask what interruption would mean for the business, how the data is protected, whether future expansion matters and which trade-offs are acceptable.
The result may be a quiet office PC, a graphics workstation, a high-capacity development machine or a specialist physical build. It should not be a gaming specification relabelled for business use.

The right design depends on the job. More expensive parts are not automatically better for every customer.

Choose the processor, graphics, memory and storage around the software and project sizes that matter, including vendor requirements where they are available.
Availability and recovery
Consider mirrored storage, power resilience, monitoring and replaceable components alongside a separate backup and recovery plan.
Cooling and acoustics

Different briefs need different answers
These anonymised examples show the range of systems JM Restart has designed and built, including one unusual project still nearing completion. Historical specifications are examples rather than fixed packages or current purchasing recommendations.
Graphics capability with mirrored working storage
An architect needed a workstation designed around professional graphics work, fast primary storage and mirrored project capacity. The completed build combined workstation graphics with separate RAID 1 pairs for the operating environment and data.
Water cooling, mirrored storage and redundant power
This is the same computer being prepared for the Willys Jeep project. When that installation was paused because of space constraints, JM Restart reconfigured the system as a conventional upright PC so the customer could use it while retaining the resilience and cooling work.
The interim system uses RAID 1 storage and a redundant power supply built around two hot-swappable power modules. The design is intended to keep the system operating if one module fails while the failed module is replaced.
RAID 1 may keep data available after a drive failure, but it does not protect against deletion, corruption, theft, malware or a wider system failure and is not a replacement for backup.
A high-capacity Razer-led specification
A software programmer wanted substantial processing, graphics and storage capability while keeping a strong Razer visual theme. The final design combined high-performance parts, a dedicated operating-system drive and two high-capacity NVMe drives in RAID 1.
A PC built into a Second World War Willys Jeep
This unusual project places a working computer within the bonnet area of a Willys Jeep. It requires a different approach from an ordinary tower, with the structure, cooling, cabling, controls and access considered as part of the build.
The project is nearing completion. Final water-cooling pipework and in-place photography will follow after the customer moves to a larger office. The current photographs document the construction and integration work completed so far.

Common questions
Before commissioning a bespoke business PC
Every build is quoted against an agreed requirement. Parts, prices and lead times can change, so historical specifications are examples rather than catalogue products.
Can you build for specialist professional software?
Yes, where the requirements can be established. We review the application vendor’s guidance, the customer’s actual workload and any specialist displays, storage or peripherals. The software supplier remains responsible for its product and licensing.
Is RAID 1 the same as backup?
No. RAID 1 mirrors data across drives and may keep the system available after one drive fails. It does not create a separate historical copy and cannot protect against every loss scenario. Important business data still needs an appropriate backup and recovery plan.
Can the system be upgraded later?
Upgrade potential can be included in the design, but it depends on the motherboard, case, power, cooling, software and future component compatibility. We explain known expansion options without promising that every future part will fit.
What warranty applies?
JM Restart provides a 12-month warranty on hardware it supplies, excluding consumables such as batteries, and a three-month warranty on labour. Your statutory rights are not affected. Some parts have longer manufacturer warranties, sometimes several years, but the exact terms depend on the product and manufacturer.
Can you maintain cooling and clean the PC?
Yes. We can clean PCs, inspect cooling, replace thermal paste where appropriate, bleed custom water-cooling systems and replace coolant. We recommend checking an all-in-one liquid cooler regularly and planning for replacement at around five years, taking account of its condition, use and the manufacturer’s guidance.
